Dr. Veola Vazquez is a licensed psychologist maintaining a psychotherapy practice in Southern California. She is also a tenured professor of psychology at California Baptist University (CBU), where she was awarded Distinguished Professor of the Year in 2023.
Within CBU's PsyD in Clinical Psychology program, Dr. Vazquez is responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and consultation for diversity-related activities. Dr. Vazquez also maintains an active research agenda focused on developing biblical methods for building racial unity within the body of Christ, developing Christian-sensitive approaches to clinical treatment, and understanding the experiences of racially diverse Christians. She is also the co-author of the book, Healing Conversations on Race.
In addition to these roles, Dr. Vazquez is also an "indie" author, publishing contemporary Christian fiction for women and Christian fiction for middle-grade children (ages 8-12).
With a passion for helping families, children, and the church community, Dr. Vazquez is also a Bible teacher and inspirational speaker for Christian events and groups.
